Laurie McKern’s work is constantly evolving, changing as the artist delves deeper into experiments with different mediums. The one constant throughout Laurie’s work is her quirky sense of humour and harmonious use of colour. Her current work, soon to be unveiled at her first solo show (to be announced) explores women’s lives during the last decades of the 20th century to present time. How have we changed sexuality and spiritually? Are we better or worse off now or then? Laurie works in acrylic, oil, printmaking, plastics, wood, wax, staples, hot glue, nuts and bolts ……… and the list keeps growing. Since 1995, Laurie has participated in over 30 exhibitions and has won numerous awards. She is also the co-founder of Art For Goats, (artwork to raise money for Oxfam’s projects). Laurie’s works are in private and corporate collections in both North America, Japan and Australia. To find out more, please visit Laurie McKern’s website.
